CNCE owns two standard Laser single-handed dinghies and operates them on lake Hombeek near Brussels. The beauty of this successful design is that every Laser in the world is identical. Strict one-design class rules ensure this remains true. The best sailor on the water wins the race, not the boat. The Laser is a challenging boat that rewards athleticism, subtle steering and trimming techniques, as well as tactical excellence. Laser is an Olympic class dinghy and is raced on the Club, National and International Class levels. Although not exactly suited for sailing beginners, it is still simple to manage, and immediately rewards with thrilling accelerations when you set it up well. For this reason we recommend its practice to members who want to improve their sailing technique.

CNCE offers the possibility to sail on a Laser 16 on lake Hombeek, a 20-minute ride from Brussels. The 16 is a very different sort of boat than the standard Laser. A little bit more than five metres in length, with a 2m beam, the gel-coated GRP dinghy aims to be a family-and-friends day-sailer. The boat provides you a feeling of solidity and stability - it has a sizeable watertight storage locker. A furling jib and two rows of mainsail slab reefing are standard. It can easily accommodate five adults and we suggest it to members who want to have a comfortable ride with family and friends.
