Looking for a sailing trip over Easter? Join skipper Josef on a 4-day sailing trip that will take you out to the North Sea, stopping over in Vlissingen, Ostende and Breskens/Terneuzen. This event is an ideal opportunity for mile-building and strengthening your sailing skills!

To book please log on to Twizzit!

WHAT TO EXPECT?

On Good Friday, you will sail from BlueOne's home port Colijnsplaat (NL) through the Oosterschelde out to the North Sea, destination Vlissingen (NL) where you will stay overnight in the new marina (30NM). You will spend the Saturday on passage from Vlissingen to the Belgian coastal city of Ostend (30NM). On Sunday, you will sail along the coast to Breskens (28NM) (or Terneuzen: 41NM). On Monday, you will head back to Colijnsplaat through the Westerschelde and Zuid-Beveland Canal (40 or 27NM).
Please note that the skipper may decide to change the itinerary due to unfavourable weather conditions or other unforseen circumstances.

Colijnsplaat marina is about a 90-120 min drive from Brussels. On arrival, the skipper will brief the crew about the sailing itinerary, which will depend on weather conditions and the crew's experience. The cruise ends on Monday evening.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
The Participation Fee (PAF) for a cruise aboard BlueOne is €70 per sailor per day on weekends/holidays (€60 on weekdays). For cruises lasting 4 days or longer, the PAF is €60 per day.
The PAF does not include the kitty (food & beverage consumed on board, the "motoring" (€10 per engine hour running) and possible marina fees). As most of us live in Brussels, we often carpool to Zeeland and back.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?

Please bring warm clothes (e.g. fleeces) and waterproofs. In the winter, the conditions can be harsh (windy and cold) so make sure you are well equipped (full sailing gear: waterproofs, sailing boots, sailing gloves and layers to keep you warm). In spring and summer, it may be warm enough for short sleeves, so be prepared for that, too. In sunny weather do not forget to pack suncream.

BlueOne's usual wind and temperature limits apply, so be prepared for a last minute cancellation. Accommodation is on the yacht; please bring your own bedding, a sleeping bag is ideal (pillows are provided). You also need to bring your own toiletries and towels.

WHAT DO I DO NEXT? (PAYMENT)
Register as soon as possible as these events tend to fill up quickly.
CNCE works on a "first paid - first served" basis, so be sure to sign up without delay to secure your participation!

WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I'VE SIGNED UP?
Once you have registered in Twizzit and paid online, you will receive a confirmation email. Before the trip, the skipper will get in touch with you with more details (e.g. carpooling, food shopping). The skipper may already indicate a possible itinerary, even if this may change because weather forecasts are only reliable two or three days in advance.

Please note that sailing activities may be cancelled at short notice due to weather conditions!

Cádiz is a beautiful, charismatic, lively and sunny city in the south-west of Spain, on the Atlantic coast of Andalusia.

Manuel is longstanding member of CNCE and a very experienced sailor, now retired and living in Cádiz. He owns sailing yacht “Airaz”, a Beneteau First 31.7 of 2005, and is now offering sailing opportunities on Airaz for CNCE members.

Sailing plan and dates: a sailing cruise in the Cádiz gulf from 5 to 12 May 2024, possibly visiting these Spanish/Andalusian villages: Chipiona, Magazón and Ayamonte (at the Portuguese border), with the option of sailing up the Guadiana River or continuing along the Portuguese coast (e.g., Albufeira, Lagos). Airaz has two cabins (two persons per cabin, ideally two crew members onboard and a maximum of four, preferably friends). “Puerto América”, a comfortable marina 10-15 minutes walk from Cádiz city centre, is the home harbour of Airaz.

How to reach Cádiz: take a flight to Sevilla and a train to Cádiz. From 31 March there will be direct flights Brussels-Jerez twice a week (Thursdays and Sundays, very convenient as it’s a 40 minute train ride from Cadiz). From Cádiz railway station to Puerto América is a 20 minute walk or 10 minutes by taxi.

Costs: apart from the usual kitty (diesel, Marina fees, food & drinks) sharing, Manuel asks for 60€ per night onboard (and/or sailing day) for boat maintenance.

Caveat: any sailing plan is subject to weather conditions and crew experience.
