Cádiz is a beautiful, charismatic, lively and sunny city in the south-west of Spain, on the Atlantic coast of Andalusia.

Manuel is longstanding member of CNCE and a very experienced sailor, now retired and living in Cádiz. He owns sailing yacht “Airaz”, a Beneteau First 31.7 of 2005, and is now offering sailing opportunities on Airaz for CNCE members.

Sailing plan and dates: a sailing cruise in the Cádiz gulf from 5 to 12 May 2024, possibly visiting these Spanish/Andalusian villages: Chipiona, Magazón and Ayamonte (at the Portuguese border), with the option of sailing up the Guadiana River or continuing along the Portuguese coast (e.g., Albufeira, Lagos). Airaz has two cabins (two persons per cabin, ideally two crew members onboard and a maximum of four, preferably friends). “Puerto América”, a comfortable marina 10-15 minutes walk from Cádiz city centre, is the home harbour of Airaz.

How to reach Cádiz: take a flight to Sevilla and a train to Cádiz. From 31 March there will be direct flights Brussels-Jerez twice a week (Thursdays and Sundays, very convenient as it’s a 40 minute train ride from Cadiz). From Cádiz railway station to Puerto América is a 20 minute walk or 10 minutes by taxi.

Costs: apart from the usual kitty (diesel, Marina fees, food & drinks) sharing, Manuel asks for 60€ per night onboard (and/or sailing day) for boat maintenance.

Caveat: any sailing plan is subject to weather conditions and crew experience.
