About Harbour Manoeuvres

The 1-day ‘General harbour manoeuvres’ and the 1-day ‘Mediterranean harbour manoeuvres’ training course is offered in collaboration with the sailing school VVW-Nieuwpoort (Flemish Watersports Organisation – sailing school, officially recognised by the Belgian Government).

Programme

General Harbour Manoeuvres (1-day, max 4 participants, 9:15 – 17:00)

How does the propeller work - how to moor and sail away from a lee shore or a windward shore - how to berth a boat forward and backwards, on a spring line, alongside a pontoon and a dock, sail backwards out of a berth and by means of a spring line, turn in narrow areas.

The training takes place in the marina, you will not go out to sea.

Required level: Competent Crew

Language: English

Practicalities: please bring your lunch and drinks.

Mediterranean Harbour Manoeuvres (1-day, max 4 participants, 9:15 – 17:00)

For those who already attended the ‘General harbour manoeuvres’ course and want to improve their skills. During this training the manoeuvres of the general training will be practiced more in-depth with a special focus on situations in the Mediterranean: anchoring, mooring on buoys, reverse mooring to a pontoon.

The training takes place in the marina, you will not go out to sea.

Required level: Competent Crew and preferably already attended ‘General harbour manoeuvres’ course.

Language: English

Practicalities: Please bring a packed lunch and drinks.
