Our best wishes for 2022!

CNCE season's greetings

It's been a long haul but we got there in the end!

The Beginners' Course is finally taking off: after a long wait and several attempts to organise the BC 2020 under Covid conditions, we are happy that we can finally welcome last year's BC candidates on board!

The course will comprise 2 theory sessions and 2 practical sailing days - one on valks and one on our sailing yacht BlueOne.
We wish all beginners fair winds and lots of fun!

For those of you who would like to enrol for the next season's Beginners' Course: just sign up to our Nav'letter to receive regular updates on our Club's activities.

We are looking forward to announce further sailing opportunities very soon!

Twizzit - Why? What? Me?
When sailing activities came to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the CNCE continued its work on a new booking system called "Twizzit" to make the club administration more efficient. Twizzit is a great online tool for clubs who depend primarily on volunteer work.
It makes the club's organisation, coordination and communication with members much easier. What's in it for you? As a member, you can book and pay online via Twizzit, apply for/renew your membership, update your personal details and communicate with other club members using the Twizzit chat function. We invite you to try it out!

Coming up

The sailing club CNCE asbl (Cercle Nautique de la Commission Européenne) is accredited by the European Commission and a focal point for sea lovers working in the EU Institutions, promoting sailing practice and training. The club also aims at strengthening social and cultural relationships among its members outside the workplace, contributing to the integration of new staff (and their families) in the Institutions, while allowing retired staff to maintain contacts with colleagues who are still working. As a truly European club, the CNCE puts particular emphasis on promoting the symbols and principles of the European Union, thus contributing modestly yet passionately to sharing common values and forging a common identity across Europe.

The CNCE offers EU staff, their families and friends a wide range of water-based activities and services, including:

  • day sailing, weekend and week-long sailing,
  • sailing on various types of dinghies and yachts; windsurfing,
  • sailing cruises in the North Sea, Channel Islands, Mediterranean, Baltic Sea, Canary Islands, even the Caribbean and beyond…
  • training courses, preparation for sailing licences,
  • local and international regattas,
  • family outings and cruises,
  • equipment, resources, discounts,
  • excursions to nautical festivals, boat shows,
  • social events.

Most if not all the activities of the CNCE rely on the voluntary work of members who wish to share their passion for sailing and the sea. Novice sailor or sea dog, you are very welcome to join, participate, learn or share your experience and most importantly, organise activities with the CNCE. The CNCE also collaborates with relevant organisations to facilitate the involvement of its members in water-based and social activities and events (training, cruises, regattas…).
